IT’s the 50th anniversary of House of Dorchester and the British chocolatiers want you to join in the celebrations!
The company can trace its history all the way back to 1963 when they first opened “The Dorchester Maid”, a chocolate shop on Dorchester High Street where a maid would sit in the shop front making chocolates.
Half a century later, House of Dorchester chocolates are widely available in supermarkets, department stores, garden centres, online and even the Historic Royal Palaces with production of the confectionery moved to a factory in Poundbury, the experimental new town built on the land of the Duchy of Cornwall.
As well as celebrating its own anniversary, House of Dorchester is also marking another rather important one: the 60th anniversary of the coronation of the Queen, which is on June 2nd. Their new Coronation range regally presents a Milk chocolate pack with chocolate slims and royal images, a milk chocolate bar in a Coronation sleeve and a beautiful boxed collection of praline crowns.
